Our Mission

Welcome to Garden Dreams!  Our mission is to supply the home gardener with a combination of strong seedlings and gardening advice which will hopefully add up to an enjoyable gardening experience for them.  We are open to any and all questions about gardening and how to do it organically!  We provide for sale open-pollinated and heirloom varieties that we grow and test ourselves so we know they do well in Pittsburgh.

Our specialty is tomatoes....we grow over 70 varieties of tomato seedlings in every color of the rainbow, as well as an intriguing array of sweet and hot peppers and eggplants.  Other seedling offerings include herbs, a wide array of vegetables, flowers, and fruit.  We also sell compost, mulch, and organic gardening supplies.

We are a small business, with Danielle Marvit running the day to day operation.  Owner Mindy Schwartz started the business in the mid 2000s and she, and former farmer/managers Hannah Reiff and Bob Madden grew the business together for many years.  Danielle came on in 2015 and has helped us expand our offerings this year to include more native plants and fruit.  Each year in May, every available surface at the farm is covered with seedlings!

We sell our certified organic seedlings at our farm from April - September, as well as through retailers around the Pittsburgh area.  We work with schools and community gardens to provide seedlings at a discount from our retail price as well.  Come down and visit our little oasis...watch the chickens dig for bugs, ask us some gardening questions, or grab a seedling or two!
